The Week Ahead

Well, this is shaping up to be a very busy week. The Regional Staff Development Day (RSDD) is Monday, so the students will have the day off. What will the staff be doing without kids? Working hard:
  • We have Ruby Payne coming to speak with the staff (and the staff of the Mancelona schools) on how poverty affects students and families. 
  • There will be a technology break-out session for staff to share with other staff members on how to best incorporate technology into their lessons. 
  • Finally, it will be building-specific professional development. 
Tuesday, we have the County Road Commission coming in to do a brief presentation during our Monday Morning Meeting. Following the presentation, the students will have the chance to tour one of the plow trucks. 

Thursday and Friday are half days. CSI dismisses at 11:10 on half days. 
  • Thursday will have Parent/Teacher Conferences in the afternoon and through the evening. 
    • If you still need to sign up for a time, please give the office a call at 258-9146
  • Friday is a half/day for students and staff.

We know it is often hard to find the time to meet with your child's teachers, but we appreciate you making the effort. Pirates of Penzance

Pirates of Penzance Viewing On Friday, April 8, 2016, 4th and 5th grade students will be walking to the High School to see a special viewing of the high school's rendition of, The Pirates of Penzance . We will be leaving the school at 12:50 and returning in time for dismissal. Please make sure your student has appropriate attire (coat, hat, mittens) for the walk. If, by chance, we have anyone with crutches, we will make sure they don't have to suffer the walk over.  :-)  Thanks!

Santa's Secret Shop

SANTA'S SECRET SHOP: ARRIVING SOON! It is that time of year again, and Santa's Secret Shop will be arriving at Cherry Street after the Thanksgiving Break. Students will have time to cruise the shop and look for small gifts for loved ones. In order to make this work to best of its ability, Cherry Street is asking for volunteers to help run the shop.
