Just a reminder that on half days, Cherry Street will be dismissing our students at on 1/21 & 1/22 at 11:10. If you have any questions, please call the office. (These are half days for high school semester exams.)

Spring Testing Begins!

M-STEP and NWEA Have Arrived! Greetings, Parents! It’s that time of year again! The testing season has arrived. Students will begin taking the annual spring assessments next week. We have talked to the students about these, and want to make them as comfortable as possible. We have scheduled the tests as best as possible to avoid test fatigue. In order to help with this, we ask for your help. In talking with the staff, these are areas that we think may help our students: Rest -- Students need as much as possible (don’t we all). Consistent bedtimes that offer plenty of sleep help prepare students for testing. Breakfast -- A good breakfast is a great way to start the day. Cherry Street does provide free breakfast for the kids, so we can help with this one. If your child happens to arrive after breakfast is done being served, have him/her stop into the office; we will make sure food is provided. Monday Morning Meeting!

M.M.M. Monday Morning Meetings. These meetings are used to help pull the students together, so we can have a common understanding of what needs to be accomplished to be successful. Every meeting begins with the pledge: The rest of the time is used for announcements, praise, and addressing concerns. Today was special, as we had the student council present to the students. What was covered?  Students were reminded to dress warmer for outdoor recess, as cooler weather is on the way. Students were commended for their behavior at the Harlem Ambassadors assembly. They received praise from multiple sources, commending their behavior! Excellent job, kids! We announced the upcoming bake sale The Pink Out is scheduled for this Wednesday -- Wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
